Welcome to the DisputeFlow user tutorials. This guide will explain data tokens and how to use them in the response builder.
A data token is a dynamic placeholder that automatically inserts dispute-specific information into your cover letter. This makes it easy to customize your dispute responses.
DisputeFlow has several data tokens — or placeholders — you might want to use:
-
Dispute amount
-
Transaction date
-
Dispute date
-
Transaction amount
-
Reason code
-
Reason code description
-
Customer full name
As you write your cover letter, add data tokens where you’d like customization. You can select a token from the dropdown list and it will be inserted where the cursor is.
The most commonly used data token is the DisputeFlow smart response.
The smart response token automatically generates a concise overview of the most relevant information in your dispute response.
This can help the reader make an informed and accurate decision regarding the outcome of your case.
To preview how the tokens will populate, click the “Next Step” button in the upper right hand corner.
If the data needed to populate the token hasn’t been added to the dispute response yet, you’ll see an error message in the preview area. You can go back and add the data or remove the token.
Because data tokens are dynamic, they are especially helpful in the template feature. DisputeFlow allows you to save the content you use most often in your responses.
By including tokens in your saved content, you can easily personalize the otherwise generic text. Check the tutorial about saved sections and templates to learn more.
